About the pattern:
The bag is worked mostly in the round, while the bottom and strap are crocheted back and forth. The bag has a double-layered bottom with a hidden plastic insert for added structure. You can make the insert from common household items, such as an old plastic folder or a takeout container.
This pattern does not cover basic crochet techniques, so you should already know:
• double crochet, chain, slip stitch and single crochet (US terminology)
• how to crochet in the round and in rows
However, the pattern also includes detailed written instructions, charts, and step-by-step video tutorials to guide you through the process.
Materials:
Beads: You need capiz shell beads or some seashells (with holes). Any shape and size you like. If you google “capiz shell” you’ll find a lot of options. I used 22 capiz shell with a diameter of 30 mm
Yarn: Katia Estrella (color 71) - 1 skein = 50 g = 135 m / 147 yd. This yarn consists of 48% Cotton, 45% Viscose, 4% Polyester, 3% Nylon and has a shimmering effect. In general, you can use any yarn you want. However, the choice of yarn will affect the final size of the purse and its appearance
Yardage: 105 grams | 283.5 m / 309.5 yd total
Instruments:
• a 3 mm hook for the bag
• a 2.5 mm hook for the bag handle
• a needle for stringing beads/seashells and joining the handle (choose a needle through which you can thread the yarn and with an eye small enough for your beads to pass through)
