Each purse has a double-layered bottom with a hidden plastic insert for added structure. You can make the insert from common household items, such as an old plastic folder or a takeout container.
The bag is worked mostly in the round with beads, while the bottom and strap are crocheted back and forth.
This pattern does not cover basic crochet techniques, so you should already know:
• double crochet, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, and treble crochet (US terminology)
• how to crochet in the round and in rows
However, the pattern also includes detailed written instructions, charts, and step-by-step video tutorials to guide you through the process

Materials:
Beads: any shape or size you like, for example, for the blue purse, I used beads of various colors and sizes, and for the white purse, I used larger wooden beads. Just be careful with very small beads - they might not fit onto the yarn. Look for beads at craft stores or online
I used:
• for the white purse 143 wooden 6/0-8/0–beads and
• for the blue purse 30-40 grams total: a mix of around 11/0–seed beads, bugle beads around 3–6 mm and larger glass 6/0-8/0–beads

Yarn: I used lace weight yarn Perle Finca 12 (100 Gramos Zeppelin Perle Finca No 12 ART80000.12). This is a very, very fine yarn with a slightly shimmering effect. I crocheted the purse using two strands with a 0.9 mm hook.
In general you can use any yarn you want. However, the choice of yarn will affect the final size of the purse and its appearance. Also, if you crochet with thin yarn, you can use small beads (seed beads). If you crochet with thicker yarn, you can only use large beads. Alternatively, if you want a large bag, you can crochet with two strands: one thick and one thin, and string all your beads onto the thin strand only.
Where to buy the yarn: I bought the yarn at our local store. This type of yarn is often available at craft stores. I would recommend choosing cotton yarn (although I crocheted the blue purse out of silk). If you can’t find this yarn at your local stores, just Google “Perle Finca 12,” and you’ll immediately find plenty of alternatives

Yardage: 50 grams | 210 m total (25 grams | 105 m for each strand as the purse is crocheted with 2 strands)

Instruments:
• a 0.9 mm hook
• a needle for stringing beads and joining the strap (choose a needle through which you can thread the yarn and with an eye small enough for your beads to pass through)

Dimensions:
Purse bottom 8 x 15.5 cm
Height from 13 to 15 cm
Strap length 49 cm
Strap width 1.2 cm

Crochet gauge: to get the dimensions of the purse as presented above, you should have the following number of stitches in a 10 cm by 10 cm swatch: 26 double crochet and 25 chain stitches; and the following number of rows: 21 rows
