My dear knitters, I want to introduce you the ideal project for scrap knitting! For this top I didn’t buy new yarn, but used leftovers from my stash. I love to create something from leftovers, the process of combining different colors and textures brings me a lot of pleasure, so I gave free rein to my imagination and this is what I got.

If you, like me, have a lot of colored little balls of yarn, don’t rush to order new yarn, try to get creative, rummage through your stockpile, try to combine different yarn colors and textures beautifully. You can even unravel something old and unwanted.

The yarn I propose to use in the pattern:

DROPS Design, COTTON LIGHT, col. 01, 27

  Lana Grossa, COTONE, col. 028, 126, 121, 26

Lana Grossa, COTONE Spray Dégradé, col. 222 or col. 221

Lana Grossa, COTONE, Print/Spray/Mouliné, col. 165

  Alpina SATI or Alpina ORGANICA

This top is knitted bottom-up on circular needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) with a 40 cm needle cord (for the sleeves) and a cord 60-100 cm (for the body).

Skills needed to knit the top: knitting in the round, flat knitting, casting on, binding off, changing colored threads.

Knitting gauge:

  K1 P1 Rib:

o  DROPS COTTON LIGHT, 3.5 mm needles - knitting gauge is 22 stitches in 10 cm.

o  Lana Grossa COTONE, 3.5 mm needles - knitting gauge is 22 stitches in 10 cm.

Body (openwork elements + roller elements): Lana Grossa COTONE, 3.5 mm needles - knitting gauge is 21,5 stitches in 10 cm and 34 rows in 10 cm.

  Sleeves (stockinette stitch):

o  Option 1.  Airy white sleeves. Alpina, 3.5 mm needles - knitting gauge is 24 stitches in 10 cm.

o  Option 2. Long sleeves. The same yarn used for the body, 3.5 mm needles - knitting gauge is 21,5 stitches in 10 cm and 34 rows in 10 cm.

The size grid is available in the sizes XXS-L. If you don't find your size, contact me on Instagram.

Bust circumference:

  XXS 75-80 cm | 29½-31½ inches

  XS 80-85 cm | 31½-33½ inches

  S 85-90 cm | 33½-35½ inches

  M 90-95 cm | 35½-37½ inches

  L 95-100 cm | 37½-39½ inches

Measure your bust or around the widest part of your upper body. The pattern will give you 10 cm of positive ease (for small sizes). For example, if the bust circumference is 90 cm, then knit size S, the width of the top on the bust will be about 100 cm.

You can also choose different back length depending on your height (46-56 cm).
